Role: VFX Artist | Compositor | Environment Designer
Project Overview:
For the independent sci-fi feature film, I was tasked with crafting a fully CGI environment that would serve as a pivotal visual setting in the film’s futuristic narrative. This world needed to feel alive, cinematic, and grounded in a believable aesthetic — while still evoking the mystery and grandeur of science fiction.
What I Did:
Designed and composited a high-detail 3D landscape integrating alien architecture and atmospheric FX.
Enhanced scenes with dynamic lighting, volumetrics, and energy-based phenomena to support the story’s mystical tone.
Created and tracked multiple camera movements to sell depth and scale.
Blended 2D and 3D assets for a seamless, immersive result.
Collaborated with the director to iterate the look and match the visual language of the film.
Creative Highlights:
Emphasis on environmental storytelling: every frame supports the emotional and narrative arc.
Balanced realism and surrealism using custom shaders, detailed compositing passes, and careful grading.
Built custom FX elements (floating particles, distortion fields, energy pulses) to accentuate the sci-fi atmosphere.
