Hanacure is a U.S.-based luxury skincare brand known for its minimalist design and viral “all-in-one facial” product. The brand had built a loyal following online, but despite the product’s popularity, the website was falling short in one key area: organic discoverability.
They reached out for help after realizing their stunning design wasn’t translating into strong Google rankings, especially for high-intent skincare search terms.
When I first took a deep dive into their Shopify backend, three major issues stood out:
Product pages were visually appealing but poorly optimized for SEO — missing keywords, incomplete meta descriptions, and very little structured data.
The site speed on mobile was slow, especially on image-heavy product pages. This was hurting both their SEO and their conversion rate.
Internal linking and page structure weren’t designed to help Google or real customers navigate the site effectively.
In short: They had a great product and great branding, but not a search engine–friendly site
I was brought in as a freelance web consultant and SEO strategist to bridge the gap between branding and performance. While the core website design stayed true to the brand’s aesthetic, I worked on the backend and technical structure to ensure that Hanacure could start getting the visibility (and conversions) it deserved.
What I Did (Step-by-Step)
Keyword Research & SEO Audit • Conducted in-depth keyword research focused on U.S. skincare search terms, product-based queries, and competitor analysis. • Identified high-volume, low-competition keywords that aligned with their product benefits.
Content & Metadata Optimization • Rewrote product and collection page content to reflect both brand voice and SEO best practices. • Optimized all meta titles, descriptions, and URL slugs using target keywords and emotional hooks to improve click-through rates.
Improved Site Structure • Added strategic internal links between product categories, blog posts, and guides to improve crawlability. • Structured headings (H1/H2) for better on-page hierarchy and readability.
Image Optimization • Compressed all product and homepage images to reduce load time without sacrificing quality. • Added keyword-rich alt text for image SEO and accessibility improvements.
Schema Markup & Technical Fixes • Implemented Product schema for rich snippets (price, stock status, reviews) via Shopify theme custom edits. • Cleaned up broken links, redirected outdated URLs, and made sure mobile performance aligned with Google’s Core Web Vitals.
The Outcome After 6 weeks of implementation: • Organic traffic increased by +70% • Bounce rate decreased by 22%, especially on mobile • Product pages began ranking for commercial-intent keywords like “anti-aging face mask USA” and “tightening skincare product” • Google began pulling in rich results (price, availability, reviews) directly from search • Faster load speed improved mobile UX and conversions
