theWorkbook (formerly Casting Workbook) is a global, comprehensive entertainment platform providing over 40 proprietary applications tailored for talent, casting professionals, talent agencies, producers, content creators, streaming platforms, and distributors worldwide. Serving industry members across 64 countries, theWorkbook facilitates effective collaboration, promotes inclusivity, and empowers professionals to thrive within the rapidly evolving entertainment landscape.

I was approached by Susan Fox, CEO & Founder of Casting Workbook, to enhance their casting software by developing advanced Conference Call functionality. The project's primary focus was on creating intuitive user interface features and integrating MacOS ZoomSDK seamlessly with custom-developed UI components.

In the initial phase, the existing application was expanded to include robust conference call capabilities. These enhancements allowed for efficient tracking and management of participants connecting via standard Zoom clients, real-time participant administration, and integrated chat functionalities.

A notable technical challenge was a limitation within MacOS ZoomSDK, specifically issues affecting the video recording functionality during conference calls. Through effective collaboration with the ZoomSDK development team, critical improvements were made to their SDK, enabling successful implementation of video recording features upon subsequent public releases of the MacOS ZoomSDK.

Objective-C: Utilized Objective-C for the development of native MacOS application components, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and seamless integration with MacOS system frameworks.

Xcode Storyboard: Employed Xcode Storyboards for efficient UI design and prototyping, facilitating rapid iteration and visual management of user interface components, resulting in intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.

ZoomSDK: Integrated ZoomSDK to deliver reliable, scalable video conferencing and communication solutions, effectively managing complex functionalities such as participant tracking, video recording, and real-time communication capabilities.
