This research project examines how the United States and China use artificial intelligence (AI) governance frameworks to project soft power and advance their geopolitical interests. Using Joseph Nye’s soft power theory and comparative analysis, the study explores how their political values, governance approaches, and regulatory strategies shape global perceptions and influence. It highlights the relationship between AI governance, international competition, and the evolving norms of global politics, demonstrating how technological leadership has become an important instrument of strategic influence.
