Dark Tonic Games Studio Website Redesign

My first official client website work. Dark Tonic is a game studio based in Pennsylvania who is working on their next title, Blunderbusted! Dark Tonic asked that I redesign their original website to help better highlight their new game, as well as their plugins.

I used SvelteKit as my tool of choice, as I have become familiar with it already from making my YouTube channel's website, and it can optimize into a static website for great performance.

I worked closely with Eric, Dark Tonic's lead to find examples of existing sites and to tailor the look and feel to match their brand. In particular, the carousel on the front page is the biggest draw, and we worked closely together to get that just right.

Once the website design was polished and to their liking, I worked with Dark Tonic to decide on how to host the site. I have hosted the test version on Firebase, but due to free tier limitations, they chose to use their existing server. I made sure to help them through the deployment process, and I also made a GitHub Action for them that FTPs the built site whenever a change is made.

The experience working with Dark Tonic was a pleasure and I was able to learn more about the video game industry as well!
