Smilo Framer Template Case Study

This is a self-initiated portfolio project, not client work.

Project Summary

Smilo is a Framer website template designed for dental clinics and dentists.
The goal was to create a professional and easy-to-use website that helps a dental practice present its services, build trust with potential patients, and make it easy for visitors to get in touch.
Unlike a simple landing page, Smilo includes a complete website structure with a Home page, Contact page, and 404 page. This makes it a more complete starting point for a dental practice that needs more than a single page.
I designed and built the entire website in Framer from scratch. The website uses a light theme with a clean layout and a simple visual style that fits the healthcare space.
The template is designed to be easy to adapt to different dental clinics and dentists while keeping the website clear and professional.

The Challenge

A dental website needs to do more than look good.
When someone visits a dental clinic website, they usually want to quickly understand:
What services does the clinic offer?
Can I trust this dentist?
Where is the clinic?
How can I contact them?
How can I book or ask a question?
The challenge was to create a website that gives visitors this information without making the experience complicated.
There was also a second challenge: Smilo is a template, so it needed to work for different dental practices rather than one specific clinic.
The design had to be flexible enough for different businesses while still feeling like a complete and trustworthy dental website.

Goals

Services Section
Services Section
The project had several main goals:
Create a reusable Framer template for dentists and dental clinics.
Make important information easy for potential patients to find.
Create a professional website that builds trust.
Keep the design simple, clean, and easy to navigate.
Make it easy for a dental practice to adapt the template to its own business.
Create a complete website rather than only a single landing page.
Showcase my ability to design and build a full website in Framer.

Who Is Smilo For?

Smilo is designed for dentists, dental clinics, and dental practices that need a modern website to present their business online.
It can work well for:
Independent dentists
Dental clinics
Family dental practices
Cosmetic dentists
New dental practices
Established clinics that need a new website
The template provides a starting point that can be adapted with the clinic's own services, images, information, team details, and contact details.

My Approach

Strategy

I started by thinking about what a potential patient needs when visiting a dental website.
The main goal was to make the website easy to understand and help visitors find the information they need without searching through complicated menus or pages.
The website was designed around a simple idea:
Help patients understand the practice, feel confident about it, and make contact.
This guided the structure, content, and design decisions throughout the project.

Competitor Research

I looked at websites from dental clinics and dentists to understand how they present their services and communicate with potential patients.
I focused on things such as:
How clinics introduce themselves
How dental services are presented
How trust is created
Where contact information is placed
How websites guide visitors toward making contact
How much information is presented on the main page
This helped me understand the common needs of dental websites and decide what information should receive the most attention.

Website Structure

Smilo was designed as a small but complete website rather than a single landing page.
The template includes:
Home — introduces the practice and gives visitors the main information they need.
Contact — provides a clear way for potential patients to get in touch.
404 page — gives visitors a useful page when they reach a URL that does not exist.
Keeping the website focused makes it easier for a dental practice to manage while still giving visitors the important information they expect.

Design

Smilo uses a light theme with a clean and calm visual style.
For a dental website, I wanted the design to feel professional without becoming too formal or cold.
I focused on:
Clear typography
Easy-to-read content
Simple layouts
Consistent spacing
Clear buttons and links
A visual style that feels appropriate for healthcare
The design was also kept flexible so the same template can work for different dental practices.
A clinic can replace the content and images with its own information while keeping the overall structure.

Design Decisions

Clear information

Patients should not have to search for basic information.
The website structure gives important information a clear place and keeps the content easy to scan.

Trust

Choosing a dentist is a personal decision, so the website needs to feel reliable.
The design avoids unnecessary visual elements and focuses on presenting the practice in a clear and professional way.

Simple navigation

The navigation is kept straightforward so visitors can move between the main pages without getting lost.
The goal is to help people find what they need rather than give them too many choices.

Clear contact path

Contact is one of the most important actions on a dental website.
The website makes it easy for visitors to find the contact page and take the next step.

Development in Framer

I designed and built the complete Smilo website from scratch in Framer.
The design and development were handled together, allowing me to make changes quickly and refine the website while building it.
I built the pages, components, responsive layouts, interactions, and other website elements directly in Framer.
The template was created with reuse in mind, so a dental practice can adapt the website to its own content and visual identity without starting from zero.

Responsive Design

Smilo was designed to work across different screen sizes.
I paid attention to how the website behaves on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, including:
Text sizes
Spacing
Navigation
Buttons
Images
Page sections
Contact elements
The goal was to keep the website easy to use regardless of the device a visitor is using.

404 Page

I also included a custom 404 page rather than leaving the template with a basic error page.
This gives the website a more complete feel and helps visitors find their way back to the main website when they reach a page that does not exist.
It is a small detail, but it is part of making the template feel like a finished website rather than just a collection of pages.

Outcome

Smilo is a complete Framer website template created specifically for dentists and dental clinics.
It gives a dental practice a clear starting point for building its online presence, with a focused Home page, Contact page, and custom 404 page.
The project demonstrates how I approach designing websites for a specific type of business: first understanding what their visitors need, then creating a simple structure and visual system around those needs.
The final result is a flexible website that can be adapted to different dental practices while keeping the experience clear and easy to use.
