Our plan as a group was to create a 12-16 page zine named “Hourglass” magazine, which tells the story of how the female villain is born through the centuries, in to the future years. 1920’s-2100’s. The zine is styled around corsets, to communicate that corsets are the constant in creating the idealised feminine of each century. We believe that the modern corset is a symbol of female power and control, as well as feminine rebellion. Over time, women have been reclaiming their force in society. We enjoy the fictional concept that women have superseded overpowering men and are now taking on the role of the dark feminine, the female villain.
