Business Challenge

Students enrollment was decreasing. Undergraduates (bachelor students) were not enrolling for a master program but where going to a different university. With decreasing student numbers, the school's revenue was in jeopardy.
The bigger problem was that the leadership team did not realize the extent of the problem. They did not think that the study programs needed to be modified dramatically.

The solution

The project owner wanted to demonstrate to the management board what type of skills today's graduates need. We created a social media listening dashboard. This dashboard displayed information about social media posts (Twitter, Facebook) from the business school and its competitors. This was combined with survey data from non-governmental bodies such as the ODEC and the European Commission.

The final result

The report, website, and dashboard were convincing. The management board agreed to make changes to the courses and wanted to further pursue the dashboard.
