The platform is designed to help people easily list and find pre-used items that are available for free or for sale.

I led the website design for Preloved, collaborating with 3 UI/UX Designers.

The goals of the research (for the design of a platform to buy, sell and gift unwanted items) are to gain a deep understanding of the needs, motivations, and behaviours of users in the context of the platform, and to identify opportunities to improve the user experience.

The lack of efficient and trustworthy online platforms for listing and shopping pre-used personal items has resulted in challenges such as limited options, trust and safety concerns, lack of user-friendly features, and limited social and environmental impact. There is a need for a comprehensive platform that addresses these challenges and provides a seamless and convenient experience for buyers and sellers, while promoting sustainability and fostering a vibrant community of users.

We started our design journey by making research on other similar websites, and documented the common strengths and weaknesses of these platforms.

We gathered user feedback to understand their needs and frustrations. This helped our design decisions and we came up with ideas we represented in wireframes.

The goal for the user research was to explore users' pain points, frustrations, and desires when disposing personal items they no longer need/want and buying or selling items online.

During the user research phase, we adopted quantitative research method by administering questionnaires generated via Google Forms. The process was conducted electronically and a total of Seventy-two (72) responses were submitted.

Users can preview and shop for various items listed either for free or at a price based on categories.

The project was an interesting one where we got to try out different ideas. Some major takeaways include;
