As the VP of Social Affairs for the Psychology Students' Association, I recognized the need to bring greater awareness to mental health conditions that are commonly found within the university community. Thus, the B.A.S.E. Initiative was born– a campaign to destigmatize (B)ipolar disorders, (A)nxiety disorders, (S)ubstance Abuse, and (E)ating disorders. The campaign began with a series of social media challenges, and culminated with two online seminars. Both seminars were well-supported, with well over 300 attendees (including students, lecturers, and other guests).
