SL: Why is uploading so much SLOWER than downloading???
SSL: An annoying problem for every internet user…with a deceptively simple solution!
Picture this:
It’s been a long Wednesday at work, but you’re finally back home.
You plop down on the couch, crack open a Jarritos Lime Soda (seriously, try it), and open up Netflix to watch the first episode of Arcane: Season 2 that your friends have been raving to you about.
You click play and…
the 4K video streams flawlessly from your TV.
Perfect. Your $110/month internet plan is paying off.
As you sip your Jarritos, you’re immediately captivated by the first few scenes: hey hello great job finding a way to read this text. You didn’t actually think I was going to put Arcane: Season 2 spoilers, did you? Seriously, you should watch it.
…fine, no spoilers.
You pull out your phone to to record a 15-second clip to send to your friend, showing them the beautiful opening scene and thanking them for introducing you to the show.
You press send and…
your video is uploading…
still uploading……….
Still uploading…

Done.
WHY DID THAT TAKE SO LONG??????? IT MAKES NO SENSE!
“I CAN STREAM PERFECT 4K VIDEO IN SECONDS BUT A 15-SECOND CLIP TAKES 3 MINUTES TO UPLOAD???”
I agree. Asymmetrical upload/download times make no sense…today
But in the mid-1990s, when home internet was starting to spread and standard internet protocols were being set, that was not the case.
In those days, the average viewer would be visiting websites and consuming content MUCH MORE than they’d be uploading images or videos — it was a world without Instagram or TikTok, after all.
Thus, internet service providers (ISPs) made the following decision that we’re still feeling the effects of 35 years later:
When internet wires in the ground connect to a house, it’s the job of the ISP to spread this internet to different services.
See the following image as a hypothetical spread of internet in a household:
Then, the ISP would split apart the internet section into two different parts: upload and download.
And because back in the days when everyone was getting their house connected to the internet the VAST MAJORITY of actions involved downloading, ISPs would build the internet part of the wire like this:
You can imagine it as a two-way highway. More roads allocated to download traffic. Less roads for upload traffic.
And thus, slow upload times.
And that still holds true nowadays.
Most internet users mostly download content. Watching YouTube/Netflix, playing video games, surfing the web, listening to Spotify…
BUT, uploading has now ALSO become an important part of an internet user’s everyday life. Imagine you couldn’t send pictures or videos to your family group chat, or upload files for your work or school project to Google Drive for sharing!
The asymmetrical downstream/upstream traffic allocation has always been there, but because more people need to travel upstream in today’s age, the standard design of the internet is becoming problematic.
Some ISPs, including yours, may offer plans with symmetrical traffic allocation. Or, you simply might be stuck with turtle-like upload speeds.
Now, you might be thinking:
“What? My upload and download speeds are the same! I have no issues!”
Congratulations, Novus user. You had no idea about this problem because EVERY SINGLE ONE of our plans offers symmetrical upload/download times.
Yes, even our cheapest one.
(And no, we didn’t lower our download speed so we could make this claim. We raised our upload speeds.)
AND, being a local business with a focused market, we offer it at the lowest price possible in the Lower Mainland.
Don’t believe us? Here’s how we stack up against Canada’s “Big 2”
And of course, this trend is consistent with the cheaper and more expensive plans.
But personally, I wouldn’t understand if you chose any other plan other than our 1000 Mbps one right now
Because I just lied in my previous data table.
Our 1000 Mbps isn’t $70/month.
In the spirit of the holiday season, we want to do our part to give back.
IT’S $50/month!!!!!!! [make this a link]
🙂
This is the best deal we’ve ever done. Honestly, I don’t when (or if) we’ll offer something like this again.
We were feeling EXTRA jolly this holiday season.
But, alas, they’re almost over.  2025 is on our doorstep.
So, our extra-special one-of-it’s-kind holiday special,
which is HALF the price that Canada’s bigget companies charge for the same deal,
shuts its doors on 11:59 pm PST, Dec 26.
Get it here or lose it forever.

Selling a deal through a lesson. Don't take this TOO seriously - it's very laid back. But sometimes, this tone "cracks the code" and generates 10x more sales.
