A wilderness outings site built to earn trust before the first message

Akora is a Canadian outings group of certified guides running hikes, canoe trips, and rock climbing. This concept project asked how a website can turn interest into a booking when the customer is trusting you with their safety.

Closing two credibility gaps

Akora’s existing site was text-heavy, so it couldn’t show what the trips are actually like. It also gave visitors no way to see the guides’ verified credentials. For a high-trust purchase, those two gaps were the real problem. Visitors couldn’t picture the adventure, and they couldn’t confirm it would be safe.

Credibility on paper and in feeling

I answered the safety gap by making it clear guides were certified early on with a dedicated "meet the guides" section further along the page sharing both the certifications and personality of each guide. To make the adventures feel real I used imagery taken entirely from real trips: close-ups of the guides and wider shots that set the scene. There are no staged or prep shots, only the experience itself.
This project covered strategy, web design, motion design, and Webflow development, all by me. The credibility gaps were identified first and shaped every layout decision that followed.
