In editing the documentary video, the process began with organizing the footage. All clips were imported, backed up, and categorized into folders for easy access. The footage was reviewed thoroughly to select the best takes and moments that would drive the story.
A rough cut was created by assembling the selected clips in a preliminary order based on the documentary's structure. This rough cut was refined by trimming excess footage, adjusting pacing, and ensuring smooth transitions. B-roll was incorporated to enhance the primary footage and provide additional context.
Audio elements were then added, including voiceovers, interviews, and background music, with careful attention to ensure the music did not overpower the dialogue. Graphics, titles, and lower thirds were introduced to provide context and clarity, and color correction and grading were applied to unify the visual style.
The final edit was reviewed multiple times and adjusted as needed, with feedback sought from others to catch any errors or inconsistencies. The documentary was then exported in the appropriate formats and resolutions for its intended use. Finally, all project files and the final cut were backed up and archived for future reference.
