In a collaborative endeavor, a freelance videographer/video editor and freelance graphic designer synergize their expertise, forging a distinct and innovative visual identity for Studio 96. The graphic designer providing sketches and the videographer/video editor providing the description and constructive criticism until ultimately one was chosen to move forward.

The Spark ✨

The project was initiated in response to the client's expanding freelance enterprise. Dissatisfied with the existing business card and logo, he sought a fresh and creative mind that could align with his expectations and the growth of his business. The goal from the beginning was to craft something memorable and minimalistic, and to create a business card that mirrors his professional growth and elevated skills.

The Stats 💯

Timeline: 10 days Budget: $200.00 USD Deliverables: • Simplistic • Geometric • Monogram

The Sketches:

Our first approach was exploring whether or not an emblem was needed for the rebranding. Through sketching, we created simple yet eye catching designs that followed the theme of video, play button, cameras, and movies.

Typography:

Once the client had determined which emblem was best, we've explored with typography. The client wanted to include the phrase "Watch Everything," a reflection of the client's approach to cinema, videography, and the world. The client ultimately chose the font Eras Medium ITC for his phrase, and we explored a custom font for his business name, keeping note to include a diamond shape to reflect the main logo.

The Final Product:

Throughout the project the client and I were very hands-on and communicative, exploring different routes and styles helped me grow as a designer and I have learned not only of the client's keen eye and the names of actors, but I have learned that every style is different. As a designer, it's easy to want to take the lead, but ultimately it's about the client and what they want for their business. Although hard not to get attached, the client was happy and satisfied with the final product.

In the art of design and decision, simplicity often emerges as the truest form of excellence.
