Qalzy is an innovative, AI-powered kitchen scale designed to help users effortlessly track their food intake, monitor calories, macros, and even vitamins. The product integrates cutting-edge machine learning algorithms with real-time data processing, offering a seamless experience for those seeking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. By simply placing ingredients on the scale, users can instantly see nutritional information displayed on the accompanying app, which is designed to provide accurate, detailed, and personalized insights into their diet and overall wellness.

As the Lead Frontend Developer at Qalzy, I played a pivotal role in architecting and developing the user interface (UI) and implementing the underlying logic that powers the web application. I worked closely with the design and product teams to ensure that the user experience was intuitive, fluid, and visually engaging. My primary responsibility was to ensure that the UI could handle complex data interactions while remaining simple and easy to use for the end user.

A significant part of my contribution was leading the migration of the project from ReactJS to Next.js 14. This transition enabled us to improve performance, enhance SEO, and streamline the development process. I was involved in refactoring components, optimizing API integrations, and ensuring that the new framework supported the scalability of the app as it grew. I also contributed to integrating the backend API with the frontend, ensuring that data flow was efficient and the UI accurately reflected real-time updates. The migration to Next.js 14 helped in improving the overall stability and speed of the application, leading to a more responsive and user-friendly product.

The project went live with a strong focus on both functionality and design, providing users with an AI-powered tool that simplifies calorie and macro tracking.
