I created this animation for a local Washington D.C. television show entitled WETA Arts that showcases local art history. It features a hand-illustrated map that portrays a local artist, Alma Thomas, crossing a line in D.C. that delineated racial segregation.
I drew the map based on D.C.'s actual city structure- the lines and images in the map represent real roadways and monuments. I then edited and vectorized the map and accompanying assets in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. After vectorizing, the assets were brought into Adobe After Effects for animating.
