This past Summer, I created branding, motion design, and product design for a rock concert series fundraiser broadcast by WETA, a PBS station serving the DC area. Each element was hand-drawn and vectorized, with the radio tower paying homage to WETA’s iconic Camp David transmitter, symbolizing its significant influence on the local radio industry. The DC skyline anchors the composition, highlighting WETA’s central role in the region’s media landscape.

A behind-the-scenes look at my process:
Round 1
After interviewing the client, I make a word cloud of all the images that come to mind for the graphics. In this project, the words naturally fell into 3 separate ideas. Then I make thumbnail sketches to loosely convey my ideas to the client, as pictured below.
Round 2
Next step is to create some more refined sketches so the client can choose a direction they would like to pursue. In this project, the client was drawn to the "grunge" logo.
Round 3
Next, I refined the "grunge" logo to render it closer to the final - knowing that the client would come back with changes for the next iteration. Below you can see my 2nd sketch of the design. The text and the overall image lacked some clarity, so I took it back to the drawing board.
Final
After a few more iterations and rounds of feedback, we landed on this design.
