Partnered with the Byte team, to design and launch Vynn; a web experience that allows users to keep track of their finances, credit history and monthly expenses.

My Role / Team:

Joined Byte to help design the 0 -> 1 flow of a new product working closely with the startup and its founder.

Problem Statement:

How might we design a form of an operating system that enables consumers to connect all financial data in one place, enabling them to stay ahead of budget, build credit scores, track credit history and earn rewards by completing challenges

Project Goal

Seamless Integration Flow: Design a flow that enables users to link their bank account in a way they are used to, and that is seamless

Easy-to-Digest Analytics: Display analytics in an easy-to-understand and clear-to-digest manner. Users, at a glance, should be able to tell where their money goes to and how.

The Solution

The solution is a form of an operating system that allows consumers to connect all financial data in one place, with other services that can offer credits, payments, and commerce with one single data channel.

I approached designing the solution by treating each major flow of the product as a design problem itself seeing that each feature is catered towards a different problem.

The Process

Timeline Mapping: In my typical fashion before any project starts. I make sure to ensure the team is in alignment with the timeline and key milestones of the project. All the flows are captured and this lets everyone stay on track.

Next Steps

Stakeholder Review: We made sure to have ample time-slots for design review with the team. It allowed us to make needed iterations, but in this case after a greater part of the design was completed, we had another round to share what was done with the larger house.

Engineering Prep & Sync: I made a doc stating all the design instances and components used on the design, and shared this with the devs. Walked them through key animation flows and styles too. Furthermore, we are looking to build an early version of this, and recruit a study group top learn from on their thoughts on the product. Over time we will iterate on the product based on the feedback we get and then make a run for the market.

Business Impact

The company was able to have a tangible visual representation of what their Vynn product would look like, this helped them get early internal thoughts on flows that could be improved. With this too, the company was able to present to potential investors and apply for funding rounds
