Squarespace

Tanya is a leadership coach for software engineers. When she first reached out to me, she was considering buying the Rachel Squarespace template from my shop.
However, after some more considerations, she decided she'd much rather invest in my VIP Design Day package. Tanya had a long history of working in the tech industry as well as coaching but all she had in terms of her online presence was her LinkedIn profile.
In her own words, she was “a well-kept secret”. Tanya was ready for a website that puts her neck and neck with established experts in her industry and also shows what's unique about her.

Project Goals

Tanya is an experienced coach with a long career in the tech industry but she felt like she was a best-kept secret in her industry.
She was ready for a website that:
→ Accurately showcases her unique personality while still having a professional look and feel
→ Showcased her different coaching packages and was easy to use for both her and her clients
Highlighted her expertise and career in the tech industry

The Process

Step 1: Brand Interview

We started off with a detailed brand interview where Tanya filled me in on the vision for her website as well as the goals she has for business for the next 6 months.

Step 2: Visual Direction & Strategy

After getting clear on the project goals, I started working on the mood board that would serve as a visual direction for the design. I mapped out her customer journey and website strategy.

Step 3: Website Design

When it comes to her online presence, Tanya had an established LinkedIn profile but no website. She chose Squarespace for her platform due to the ease of use and having all the necessary features that she needed for business.

Colors & Fonts

Tanya expressed her preference for blue, green, and silver tones for her color palette. I ended up creating a palette consisting of deep blues and greens that position her website as trustworthy and reflect her niche while the silver adds a dose of elegance that Tanya wanted.
Here’s her final mood board and color palette:
To create a warm but empowering look for her website, I opted for Poppins and Futura font pair. The sans-serif font pair is a combination of modern and geometric fonts which works well for the industry Tanya is in.

Logo Designs

In addition to colors and fonts, I’ve put together a simple logo that included her tagline. The logo uses a round font in regular weight which stands out from the fonts used on her website.

Website Design

I brought together the color palette, finished logo designs, fonts, icons, and photos to create a website that leads Tanya’s clients through an intentional customer journey.
By building a clear path from highlighting what Tanya has to offer, her story and her client results, to submitting an inquiry, I ensured that only the right-fit clients would get in touch with Drea.
Tanya also had plenty of testimonials that needed to be included throughout the website and I absolutely loved using the new Squarespace sections for this functionality.
The finished website combines the following key elements:
Core website pages: Home, About, Coaching, Contact, and Scheduling Page
FAQs and Videos page that allow Tanya to demonstrate her knowledge and expertise
Articles page where she can share her insights and details about her process
Testimonials throughout her website that speak about her client results
The end result is a website that looks professional, warm, empowering, and trustworthy.
It combines lots of white space paired with unique photos for the website that not only stand out from the typical stock photos but also position her as the expert and guide.

“Your vision for my site is something I could never have done on my own - the colours, layout, the way the layout and experience brings the content to life, how it conveys my personality, tells a story, and helps me stand out in a great way in a very crowded market… I could go on!
I love that I didn't have to figure all this out on my own, and that you guided me through it every step of the way. And the mood workbook, other templates, and the ease of collaboration were an absolute godsend in helping me put together all the content which was such a massive undertaking.”
