This exclusive poster series is dedicated to the Helvetica documentary film. In my year one typography class, we were challenged to create a poster series exploring the timeless elegance of one of the world’s most iconic typefaces. This series aim to celebrate Helvetica not just as a typeface, but as a cultural phenomenon that has shaped the way we perceive and interact with written language. A quote from Massimo Vignelli, "There are people that think that type should be expressive. They have a different point of view from mine," resonated deeply with me. While Helvetica is not inherently expressive, it still effectively communicates a range of expressions.
