Overview

iRhythm needed to reimagine their packaging construct with the release of their new product, Zio monitor. With this new device, came a whole new set of challenges. The packaging construct must satisfy the need of any user type, whether the device is applied in a hospital or clinic setting, or applied by the patient at home. This design packaging project included the box (inside and outside), patient guide, symptom log, prep materials, and return method.

Business Constraints

The business had a few constraints that needed to be designed within to aid in cost reduction of the packaging. Certain components must be shared between different products, and the box must be constructed in a way that can be automated in the future. Additionally, iRhythm has brand guidelines that must be adhered to when working on any hardware or digital components. Below are samples of the box, patient guide, and symptom log.
The box was created in Adobe Illustrator, using photoshop for the rendering of Zio.
Both the patient guide and the symptom log were created in Adobe InDesign.
