This illustration was created for an editorial ad campaign titled “Yikes! How to Think About (and Save on) Summer Childcare,” for Compare Credits, highlighting the high cost of summer camps and offering budget-friendly alternatives like nanny shares and community programs. I began the process by researching relevant articles to understand the key issues parents face during summer, then sketched initial concepts incorporating visual metaphors such as a piggy bank, sand timer, money bags, and thoughtful parents to reflect financial concerns. I illustrated a campfire scene to represent summer camp, added a cityscape to ground the setting, and included childcare-related elements like calculators and shared nanny visuals. The style follows a clean, modern flat vector look inspired by the client's reference images, with subtle expressions and optional textures for added warmth. I delivered the artwork in multiple layouts and background options, ensuring flexibility and consistency with the brand’s needs, while keeping the message simple, engaging, and easy to relate to.
