At Brighthouse Financial, fostering meaningful connections and instilling trust is at the core of its client relationships. The Wholesaler Video Series was created as a strategic icebreaker for new clients, offering a personalized introduction to their local wholesaler. These videos provided valuable insights into each wholesaler’s role and how they could collaborate with clients to prepare for the future.
To achieve this, our team was tasked with capturing and producing videos for all 116 Brighthouse Financial Wholesalers, creating a cohesive, professional, and engaging video series that would serve as a powerful relationship-building tool.
Challenges & Problem Solving
The biggest challenge was ensuring consistency and high production value across 116 different wholesaler videos, recorded in multiple locations across the country. The key challenges included:
- Maintaining a uniform look and feel across videos shot in different cities.
- Coordinating a large-scale production efficiently, with wholesalers performing three scripted scenarios each.
- Creating a portable and professional studio environment that could be replicated in various locations.
- Executing a streamlined post-production process to edit and finalize over 100 individual videos while maintaining brand alignment.
To overcome these challenges, we strategically recorded interviews at eight regional conferences, setting up a uniform studio environment using a custom-built foam core backdrop. We designed and transported two identical sets between locations, ensuring a seamless and professional aesthetic for every video.
Creative Approach & Storytelling
The Wholesaler Video Series was designed to be personal, professional, and engaging, creating a genuine connection between wholesalers and their clients. The storytelling approach included:
- Structured yet natural conversations, allowing wholesalers to convey their expertise while maintaining authenticity.
- Three scripted scenarios per video, ensuring consistency while allowing for personalization.
- A high-quality, controlled studio setup, elevating the production value to reflect Brighthouse Financial’s commitment to excellence.
- A cohesive branding approach, with identical lighting, framing, and backdrops, ensuring that all 116 videos felt part of a unified series rather than separate productions.
My Role & Execution
As a key contributor to this large-scale production, I was responsible for:
- Managing logistics and coordinating production schedules across the eight regional conferences.
- Overseeing set design and studio setup, ensuring consistent lighting, framing, and visual aesthetics across locations.
- Directing on-camera interviews, helping wholesalers feel comfortable and confident while delivering their scripted scenarios.
- Ensuring smooth video production operations, from filming through post-production.
- Managing post-production workflows, including editing, color correction, and branding integration to maintain consistency across all videos.
