WithTime is a web application that allows users to securely store memories and deliver them to their future selves or others at a chosen date. The platform was designed to create intentional emotional experiences through delayed access rather than instant media consumption.
As a solo developer and product designer, I designed and built the full MVP including product concept, UX structure, frontend architecture, backend storage logic, and deployment using React, Vercel and Supabase.
Landing Experience & Conversion Strategy
The homepage introduces the concept of “intentional inaccessibility” — a memory experience designed around delayed emotional impact rather than instant sharing.
The primary goal of this page is clarity and trust. Because users are storing personal media for long periods of time, the interface prioritizes simplicity and reassurance through:
a clear explanation of what a capsule is
a direct call-to-action to create one
minimal navigation friction
a mobile-first layout for student users
The homepage acts as both a product explanation and the entry point into the capsule creation journey.
Low-Friction Onboarding
Signup Page
Because trust is critical for a long-term storage product, onboarding was designed to feel lightweight and secure without overwhelming users.
The signup flow minimizes cognitive load while ensuring account ownership is verified before capsule creation begins. This balance supports early adoption while reinforcing credibility as a platform handling personal memories.
The goal was to reduce drop-off between discovery and first capsule creation.
Capsule Lifecycle Management Interface
Dashboard Page
The dashboard acts as the central control hub where users can monitor their capsules across different time states.
Each capsule displays:
Title
Unlock Status
Note Availability
Attachment Count
Media Type Indicators
This structure allows users to quickly understand what memories exist, what is still locked, and what is ready to open.
The interface intentionally avoids previewing locked content to preserve the emotional payoff of delayed access — reinforcing the product’s core concept of intentional anticipation.
The sidebar navigation separates key actions clearly:
Dashboard Overview
Capsule Creation
Account Settings
Logout
This keeps the experience focused while remaining scalable for future feature expansion.
Capsule Reveal Experience
Capsule View
The capsule view represents the emotional destination of the product journey.
Once unlocked, users can access:
Capsule Title
Description
Written Message
Stored Attachments
Downloadable Media Files
Images are previewable directly inside the interface to create an immediate nostalgic experience before downloading content.
The design prioritizes clarity and emotional pacing — presenting memories in a structured sequence rather than overwhelming users with raw file access.
This reinforces WithTime’s positioning as an experience platform rather than a storage utility.
My Role & Responsibilities
I independently designed and developed the full WithTime MVP including:
Product Concept Development
UX Flow Design
Interface Design
React Frontend Implementation
Supabase Backend Integration
Authentication System
Media Upload Logic
Capsule Locking Logic
Deployment Via Vercel
The platform was built using a lean cloud-native architecture to support scalability while maintaining a low operational cost structure suitable for early-stage launch testing.
WithTime is a time capsule web app where users lock messages and media until a future date. I designed and built the MVP using Next.js, Supabase and Vercel.
