Case Study:Mobile Design and UX Research for Terahelp

Terahelp is an online application that allows users to connect with therapists and talk with them online, as well as find a treatment centre near them.

The goal of this project is to alleviate the difficulties associated with locating a therapist or a therapeutic institution.

According to World Health Organisations (WHO):

"Mental Health problems will be the main cause of disability in the year 2030 and about 25% of the population will suffer from a mental health disorder throughout their lives".

Mental health is a widespread issue these days, and many individuals in Nigeria, due to religious beliefs, society and culture, find it difficult to locate a skilled therapist or a place where they may get treatment.

People in this region of the globe - Nigeria - have a tough time finding a therapist or a treatment facility, and if they do, it is expensive.

Goals/Requirements: To create a mobile app that allows users to connect with therapists, have free online conversations with them, receive directions and also book sessions with a therapeutic centre near them.

To create a mobile app that allows users to interact with therapists and conduct online conversations with them. A qualitative study was conducted to better understand the users' behaviours, requirements, and pain areas.

Screener questions were sent out using Google Forms to identify the target audience, which is people who have or have had mental issues and want to contact a therapist or a treatment centre.

The selected users who also wanted to be interviewed were then interviewed. The interview was held online using Google Meet.
