And yes it is unfair. cause it only promotes the creators who are already at top.
but it's because they help youtube retain more people on platform for longer time then a smaller creator who isnt helping much. so they prioritize the best until you prove them you are worth it.
Most creators make the same mistake.
They build something great, then package it badly.
Your thumbnail is the first 0.3 seconds of your video.
If it doesn't stop the scroll. the rest (Your Video) doesn't matter.
I'm a Thumbnail Strategist & Designer working with tech founders, indie hackers, SaaS builders, and startup creators. I work at the intersection of Audience Research, Design, Visual Strategy, Human Psychology, and Business metrics.
What I actually do:
→ Research what's working in your niche (and why it works)
→ Build a thumbnail and title system around your content goals
→ Create packaging that competes, not just exists
→ Iterate based on real performance data every month
I don't take one-off gigs. I mostly work with a small number of creators on retainer as a strategic partner, not a vendor.
If your content deserves more clicks, let's fix the packaging.
