SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY
I managed social media content and strategy for Command Queer, a cultural collective, over the course of a year. The challenge was building an engaged community that would translate into real-world event attendance while establishing a strong visual identity for the brand.
Results:
∙ Grew followers from under 1,000 to over 5,000 in 12 months
∙ Achieved consistent sell-out attendance across 10+ events
∙ Built recognizable brand presence that drove measurable engagement
Design Strategy: My approach centered on creating a flexible visual system that could adapt to different events while maintaining brand cohesion. I developed a consistent palette of colors and recurring symbolic elements that appeared across all posts, ensuring immediate brand recognition. At the same time, I gave each event its own distinct visual personality—different typography treatments, unique compositions, and event-specific imagery that reflected the nature of each gathering.
This balance between consistency and creativity meant followers could instantly identify our content in their feeds, but each post still felt fresh and specific to what we were promoting. The visual identity became strong enough that people started recognizing Command Queer events even before reading the text.
