7 Affordable Accessories to Help you Organize your Taxa Trailer
Camping is already an organizational nightmare if you don’t have a system in place. Picking vacation days, planning travel destinations, searching Covid guidelines, choosing what clothes to wear, what to eat, and where to stay is already a taxing experience. And heaven forbid you don’t locate a dump station beforehand…
And that is just the technical planning of the trip! Once you’ve hit the road and try to live in your home away from home, you also need to create a system within the trailer. Which, you may already know, can be a challenge if you haven’t found a creative way to make use of the unique design of your taxa trailer.
Instead of needing to crawl under your bed to reach your extra pairs of socks packed away among the crowded bags and boxes, or rearrange the entire space just to access the pots stored under the counters, let me share with you 7 organization accessories and solutions that will change your entire camping experience.
Cargo Nets
It's obvious that Garrett Finney had cargo nets in mind when he designed the Taxa Trailers. There are mounting points all over the walls that allow for dozens of configurations and customizations to fit your needs. Cargo nets can be as light or as heavy duty as you need and come in a variety of sizes.
There are places where a cargo net fits, such as on the ceiling above the bed, but with some ingenuity you can find a few other places to employ a cargo net.
On the Cricket and Mantis models, the back door has some mounting points below or around the window where a cargo net could hold a light blanket or a pillow. Because of how the door opens, you wouldn't want anything too heavy here that could fall out, and it should be low profile so that it fits while the door is closed.
With the addition of magnetic or command hooks, cargo nets can be used pretty much anywhere if it's small and light enough. This could make a good place for paper towels or wash rags to be stored.
Just be aware that not all surfaces are magnetic, make sure you check before purchasing magnetic hooks.
The Net Lady on Etsy has made custom fit nets for the Mantis. If you have something in mind for a custom net, reach out to her: https://www.etsy.com/shop/netLady

Hanging Shoe Rack
This nifty life hack is one of the biggest game changers. I saw someone using one of these in their RV and realized that I had been missing out.
Repurposing a Hanging Shoe Rack for frequently used items is a must. I usually put things I need in the kitchen here such as dish soap, hand soap, bug spray, toothpaste, etc. What's great about it is, I can hang it behind the support struts using carabiners and it can stay in place when the Cricket is packed up. I never had to take it down.
However, I do remove the contents when I pack up otherwise I'm sure they'd fall out and make a mess in transit.

Carabiners
Another obvious one, carabiners! You can hang nearly anything using a carabiner.
I typically hang my backpack from a front anchor point above the kitchen. It's out of the way and I can access the outer pockets easily. If I need to pull it down, it's easy to do with the carabiner yet it's still secure. It won't come unhooked when the trailer shakes.
I've seen other enthusiasts hang pots and pans with carabiners as well. I really like this idea because after you wash a pot or pan, you can hang it up to dry rather than setting it out to dry on the countertop, taking up valuable counter space.
Hanging Wire Basket
Similar to the shoe rack, this is another way to store your often accessed items out of the cubbies. I primarily use this one for plates, bowls and rags.
Since we're always grabbing plates and bowls, it doesn't make sense to hide them away. That is typically where you put your less used items, such as condiments and spatulas. And what's excellent about this particular product, is that it collapses really well for travel and fits securely into the cubbies. Win-win.

Bungee Cords
We use a single bungee cord that stretches along the rib of the ceiling for a roll of paper towels. But because of the flexibility of the cord, most anything of shape and size could be secured using a bungee cord.
However, keep in mind the movement bungee cords allow. If you are trying to store something delicate or fragile that should not be jolted around, avoid bungee cords and use ratchet straps instead.
Ratchet Straps
Ratchet straps are more secure than bungee cords but virtually perform the same task. Using the same mounting points all over the walls, you can connect and tighten your ratchet straps to secure sleeping bags, chairs, or your precious plastic yard flamingos (I’m not judging, to each their own) to make use of all available space.
Custom Counter Shelves
Last, but certainly not least is the highly useful and durable Taxa Cricket Corner Shelf.
What makes these shelves so beneficial is their location, durability and functionality for the space.
I have used this shelf to hold my phone, charger, wedding ring, watch and other valuable possessions.
Having the specific design to fit right in the corner of the sleeping space makes storing these expensive objects easily accessible and convenient.
I no longer have to worry about losing my ring or phone in our tightly packed trailer. The Cricket Corner provides a designated space for the things I don’t want to lose.
I will never go camping without the Taxa Cricket Corner Shelf.
With all 7 of these accessories, your camping experience could be dramatically efficient and more enjoyable.
Good luck on your next trip!
Happy Camping!
