Overview

Pawdopt is a pet adoption website template for animal shelters, rescue groups and pet care businesses. I designed it in Figma, then built production versions in Webflow and Framer. It includes 16 designed pages with CMS collections for adoptable pets, success stories, events and blog posts.

The Challenge

Rescues rarely struggle because the animals are unlovable. They struggle because the website buries them. Adoptable pets hide behind mission statements, profiles are thin, and the adoption process is unclear, so interested people drop out before they ever contact the shelter. Donations and volunteering often compete for the same generic contact form.

The Approach

I put the animals first. The homepage leads with adoptable pets, then layers in impact stats, adopter stories, an FAQ and a signup prompt. Every pet gets a real profile page with photos, background details, adoption steps and a direct contact route.
I also separated the three ways people help. Adopt, donate and volunteer each have their own page and form, so a would-be foster isn't funneled into a donation page. A step-by-step adoption flow makes the path from interest to inquiry explicit, which keeps applicants from giving up halfway.

Key Features

Pet-first homepage: adoptable animals up front, backed by impact stats and stories.
Pet profile pages: photos, background, adoption steps and contact on every animal.
CMS filtering: browse pets by breed, age, size or temperament; add new animals in a form.
Interactive adoption process: a clear, stepwise path to inquiry.
Donation features: campaign progress, one-time and recurring giving.
Volunteer and foster hub: matches volunteer shifts, foster interest and skills to needs.
Impact proof: adopter interviews, photo montages and animated counters.

Pages

Home, About, Adoptable Pets, Success Stories, Events, Donate, Get Involved and its form, Blog and Contact, plus a 404 page and utility pages. CMS templates render every pet profile and blog post, so the site grows as intake grows.

Build Notes

Scroll reveals, hover states on adoption buttons, gallery carousels and Lottie icons run throughout, while motion stays light so the photos lead. Layouts use flexbox and grid with retina-ready images, and both the Webflow and Framer builds are fully responsive.

Shelters lose adopters when pets are buried behind mission statements and the process is unclear. I designed and built Pawdopt in Webflow and Framer with a pet-first homepage, CMS pet profiles, a stepwise adoption flow and separate adopt, donate and volunteer paths.
