A client came to me a month ago, with a unique idea for a website.
They were a Leadership Advisory firm based out of Dubai, and they wanted a website where they can showcase leadership with mountaineering. How reaching the top is the common goal in both.
I loved the idea!
As they were telling me about it, I started imagining it in my head. But when I worked with my design team to create a design for their website and shared it with them, their reaction was quite strongly negative. Not because they didn't like the design, but because they thought design should be moving. It should have animations. I listened to their feedback and instead of hurting their feelings back, I came back with a one page Framer build for their homepage with the same design.
They loved it, and expressively told me so!
Then we sat down and I explained to them the difference between design and development. We then synchronized over the next pages and smoothly got the website done.
Moral of the story? Listen to feedback carefully, without getting defensive and you will become the developer clients don't want to let go!
