Retailer purchase orders were coming in through SPS Commerce and being processed by hand. Someone checked stock, someone typed the sales order into Sage 50, someone kicked off fulfillment. Every handoff was slow and every retype was a chance for an error.
What I built
A custom order automation platform on ASP.NET Core and C# that connects the e-commerce and operational systems into one workflow.
Retailer PO intake and processing through SPS Commerce
Inventory and order validation before anything is created
Automatic Sage 50 sales order creation
Logistics and fulfillment workflow support
Exception handling and operational visibility, so problem orders get flagged instead of slipping through
The result
Manual processing dropped across the whole order lifecycle, data accuracy improved, and orders keep moving without someone retyping them. It runs today as a production business system.
What I learned
Automation is not about removing people. It is about removing the retyping. The happy path is easy. The value is in handling the exceptions well, so the team only touches the orders that actually need a human.
If your team is still copying orders between systems, this is the kind of system I build.

Retailer POs flow from SPS Commerce to validated Sage 50 sales orders and fulfillment automatically. Exceptions get flagged, nothing gets retyped.
