Energy Conservation by Modelling Room Occupancy Dynamics

Using the sensor data available in standard HVAC systems, an Auto-Regressive Hidden Markov Model (ARHMM) was built to capture the room's occupancy dynamics. An analysis was then provided for the energy conservation that is possible using the proposed occupancy detection technique to control the HVAC system’s operations.
