Flyyt Time: Digital Flight Training Management Platform
Context and Objective: Flyyt Time was initiated to modernize flight training operations for the U.S.-based aviation education provider that relied heavily on manual logs, spreadsheets, and disconnected coordination methods. The objective was to digitize the end-to-end training lifecycle and create a centralized platform that seamlessly connects FAA-certified instructors with students while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
Core Problem Statement: Traditional flight training workflows were fragmented and error-prone. Manual flight hour logging, paper-based certification tracking, and inefficient scheduling created administrative overhead for instructors and limited visibility for students. Ensuring FAA-compliant record accuracy at scale was both time-consuming and operationally risky.
Strategic Solution Design: The solution was designed as a unified, full-stack management system focused on accuracy, transparency, and real-time collaboration. Key strategic decisions included:
Centralized dashboards for instructors and students
Real-time synchronization of flight logs and certification data
Automated progress tracking aligned with FAA requirements
Secure authentication to preserve data integrity and trust
Mobile-first UX to support on-ground and in-flight workflows
Engineering Execution: The platform was engineered using a modern, scalable web architecture:
Frontend: Next.js with Tailwind CSS for a fast, responsive, and intuitive user experience
Backend: Supabase with real-time database subscriptions to ensure instant data consistency
Authentication: Secure role-based access for instructors, students, and administrators
Data Integrity: Real-time validation of flight hours and certification milestones
UX Design: Device-agnostic interfaces optimized for desktops, tablets, and mobile usage
Solution Delivered: The final solution successfully replaced manual training operations with an automated, data-driven platform that:
Supports thousands of active students and hundreds of FAA-certified instructors nationwide
Digitizes flight hour logging across multiple certification categories
Reduces administrative workload by over 65% through automation
Ensures full FAA compliance with accurate, real-time certification records
Improves instructor–student coordination via centralized scheduling and progress visibility
Provides 24/7 access to training data, analytics, and certification status
Technology Stack: Next.js • Supabase • PostgreSQL • Tailwind CSS • TypeScript • REST APIs • Real-Time Subscriptions
