Opticash - FIntech Cross Border Remittance Platform

What is Opticash?

Opticash is an innovative fintech platform that simplifies cross-border financial transactions, especially for the African diaspora and emerging markets. As the Lead product designer, my role was to conceptualize and create a seamless user experience (UX) and an intuitive user interface (UI) that would empower users to manage their finances effortlessly, overcoming traditional banking challenges. Live and Available in Over 12 countries

Problem Statement

In today's global economy, millions face the challenge of costly, complex, and inaccessible financial transactions across borders. The African diaspora and emerging markets are particularly affected by high remittance fees, slow transfer times, and stringent banking requirements. Opticash aims to solve these issues by offering a digital remittance platform that is fast, secure, and cost-effective.

Design Objectives

Inclusivity: Design a platform accessible to both banked and unbanked populations.
Usability & Accessibility: Create an intuitive interface that allows users to navigate the platform and have a seamless interaction.
Security: Ensure the design incorporates advanced security features to protect user data and transactions.
Multi-currency Support: Facilitate seamless currency conversion and management.
Rapid Transactions: Minimize the steps required to complete a transaction, ensuring speed and efficiency.

Market Research

To address the needs of Opticash's diverse user base, extensive user research was conducted, focusing on the behaviours and pain points of users in the target markets. This research informed the creation of user personas, which guided the design process.

Understanding the Users (Target Audience)
