Between — A Photography Studio Website Built as a Living Framer Template
Overview
Between is a photography studio website designed to present creative work with restraint, warmth, and intention. The goal was to build something that feels like a real working studio — not a portfolio starter kit — while doubling as a polished, fully customisable Framer template that other creatives can make their own.
The result is a site that lives between two identities: a genuine brand presence for a photography studio, and a thoughtfully architected template that feels nothing like a template.
The Problem
Most photography templates follow the same playbook — fullscreen hero, grid of images, minimal nav, repeat. They're clean but forgettable, and they force photographers into a visual language that isn't theirs.
There were three things Between needed to do differently:
Feel like a real studio that's been around — not a demo site
Give photographers a design system with genuine personality
Be flexible enough to adapt without losing its identity
The challenge was making something opinionated enough to be beautiful, but structured enough to be practical.
The Approach
Between was built around a dark, editorial aesthetic — warm charcoal backgrounds, sand-toned typography, and generous spacing that lets imagery breathe. The navigation doubles as a statement, with oversized links that feel more like a printed lookbook than a website menu.
Every section was designed with real content hierarchy in mind: contact details, social links, and studio information are given the same visual weight as the work itself — because for a studio, those things are the work.
Built entirely in Framer, Between uses native components and layout tools to make customisation intuitive without needing to touch a single line of code.

The Outcome
Between proves that a template can have a point of view. It gives photographers, studios, and visual creatives a starting point that already feels considered — so they spend less time designing and more time shooting.
The site works as a live preview of what's possible when restraint and craft are given equal weight.
