As our company expanded rapidly, managing our workforce became increasingly challenging due to time constraints and the geographical dispersion of our teams. We initially adopted leading Workforce Management applications to address these needs, but found them lacking in terms of flexibility and feature availability, especially as our staff's demands evolved. The existing solutions were not cost-effective, prompting us to explore the development of an all-in-one platform tailored to our specific requirements. Thus, the initiative to create Zahio, later rebranded as Squadish, was born.

As the lead designer, my role encompassed research, design, and testing. I was responsible for understanding user needs, identifying gaps in existing solutions, and creating a user-centric platform that addressed these challenges. I used tools like Miro, Sketch, and Invision throughout the design process, ensuring a seamless integration of features like easy scheduling, task management, time and location tracking, and reporting.

I began with comprehensive user research, including interviews and surveys, to gather insights into ideal workforce management scenarios. Collaborating with stakeholders, we identified key pain points and formulated "How Might We" statements to guide our design process. We iterated on designs, tested prototypes with users, and refined the platform based on feedback. The development phase involved close coordination with the technical team to ensure the platform was robust and scalable.

The launch of Squadish led to a 53.5% engagement rate and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 64, reflecting high user satisfaction. The average cost reduction was 47% within the first three months post-launch, and user feedback highlighted the platform's efficiency in task assignment and tracking. The comprehensive design approach and user-centric features significantly improved workforce management, empowering managers and enhancing productivity across organizations.
