Fun side-project to do: imagine and design a feature to add to Tripadvisor.

*DISCLAMER: I don't work for Tripadvisor, nor did they see this new feature. This is a fun side project - the feature that is missing after using Tripadvisor on our vacation.
Steps:
1. idea (using the Tripadvisor I got the idea for Trip Wizard - feature will be explained bellow)
2. research (poll and questionnaire asking people general questions about TripAdvisor and this new feature, personas, user journey map)
3. wireframe (time to make the logic, the brains behind the idea - how and why it will work)
4. research #2 (Tripadvisors guide book is public - what are their colors, policies with logo, fonts and generally how are their components in the mobile app)
5. design (adding design elements to the screens from wireframe - made the components first, defined colors and fonts)
6. prototype (made clickable prototype which is necessary for my last step)
7. research #3 (heatmap of the prototype and finding out how well are people navigating new feature - needed to iron out bugs and problems with interface, made few task for testers to accomplish in prototype)
Trip Wizard:
The idea behind this feature is to co-exist with Trips feature in Tripadvisor. Trip Wizard is.. well, wizard - generator for your vacation. All you need is to input date and location and this feature will generate day/days for you.
No need to Google, Bing, Yahoo or research the place you are in (or going in to). According to your options and filters and blacklists Trip Wizard will offer you activities.
While Trips is aimed for people that take charge and research the place and carefully plan their ... trip, Trip Wizard is for laid back people that either have no time to research or simply don't want to. This way they can experience new stuff, activities and location that wouldn't cross their minds.
