About The Project

I am honored and excited to have full creative control for West Coast Budz, an upscale, designer dispensary located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The owners provided a few ideas to help me envision their dream for their awesome new brand. When they mentioned they wanted to incorporate the color green and a skull with a fitted cap, I knew right away this would be a fun project for me!

The Logo Suite

I started out with the main logo, using Midjourney to generate a few different skull and hat options, then arranged the two components in Canva. I really wanted to make the logo pop, so I added vibrant green cannabis leaves in the background, also generated with Midjourney. After adding some text to the hat and some smoky elements, the main logo is now complete!

The main logo for West Coast Budz illustrates the cool and hip vibe of California cannabis culture while capturing the essence of laid-back luxury. The lit herbal cigarette and the puffs of smoke are a straightforward representation of what this brand is all about.

The alternative logos include a wordmark with the brand slogan and three extra logos, ensuring the cohesiveness of the brand. The intricate cannabis leaves present a distinct image that readily connects to the essence of the brand and serves as an easily recognizable brand identifier.

The Mood Board

Work was definitely not linear with this project but it all came full circle. I created the mood board after designing the main logo. It was really helpful to have one place with the color palette, slogan, and inspiration photos to go back and visit when needed. And, thanks to this assignment, I now have this mood board template to use for other projects!

The mood board includes the logo suite, color palette, slogan, brand message, brand typography, inspo photos, business card (front and back) and social icons.

Marketing

Designing flyers for West Coast Budz was a breeze since i already resonate with its concept. I loved tapping into the brand's laid-back vibe and cannabis culture, making each flyer vibrant and on point. It was the perfect blend of creativity and personal resonance.
