Client: Vimeo
Project Title: Vimeo Access Management Tutorial (Vimeo Summer 2024 Feature Release
Role: Motion Designer
Goal: To clearly and quickly educate Vimeo's target users (primarily Enterprise and Business clients) on the new/updated features for security and branding, driving feature adoption and reducing customer support tickets.
The Challenge
Vimeo was rolling out critical platform features (like granular Access Management) that were complex but vital for large organizations. The challenge was to transform technical, security-focused information into a concise, engaging, and trustworthy video tutorial that would immediately communicate the feature's value proposition to a high-value, professional audience.
Key Constraint(s):
Clarity: Must accurately reflect the UI/UX while being easy to follow.
Trust: The video must maintain Vimeo's professional and high-quality brand image, especially on a topic like security.
Leveraging Vimeo's core brand guidelines, I focused on a clear, step-by-step visual narrative, prioritizing speed, screen clarity, and brand consistency.
Visual Strategy: Employed a minimalist, focused motion design approach. Heavy use of contextual motion graphics (zoom, focus, and highlight effects) to direct the viewer's eye to the exact UI elements (e.g., dropdown menus, toggle switches) being explained in the "Access Management" video.
Editing & Pacing: Used quick, seamless transitions to link various UI screens and maintain a fast pace, catering to the short attention span of a busy professional audience.
Results & Impact
Delivered a high-quality, final-cut video that was leveraged across Vimeo’s primary channels.
The final video successfully showcases the key benefits of the Access Management feature: Granular control over team permissions, audit logs, and security.
Successfully integrated voiceover timing and UI animations into a coherent final product.
