Overview
As a product developer, I took the time to tackle the subject with a cross functional team on Public Safety within the Rocky mount area with creating a platform and program that will cater to males from ages 15-26 to help decrease the number of violence and let students be engaged. I had the opportunity to work through the project as a Product Developer, and create the design oft eh app, along with helping with the design, look, and feel of the product we were pitching to stakeholders.
The Problem
Rocky Mount, NC, has experienced an increase in gun-related violence within the city. Now, officials are actively seeking solutions to reduce these incidents and foster positive engagement among the youth population. I harnessed the power of technology to create a solution that increased the socioeconomic status of young minority males from economically disadvantaged households by introducing them to pathways to success and higher-paying jobs/industries through an engaging program that will create a circular community.
The Solution
CHANGE THE NARRATIVE! Our group championed a culture of innovation within the team, fostering creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement that contributed to the success at the pitch competition. Managed the product lifecycle, lead the ideation, conceptualization, and development of an innovative solution that leveraged emerging technologies to address the needs of Rocky Mount, NC rising youth related gun violence. We had the chance to share our concept and discuss between stakeholders to gather feedback, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Analyzed market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
