Planet IX is an on-chain game economy where people own digital assets and earn rewards through play. The product needed to move from one blockchain to another, carrying users’ tokens and paid items with it.
The design question was bigger than crypto: how do you make a multi-step, irreversible transfer of something valuable feel safe enough for thousands of people to complete?
My role
I was Product Designer and led UX/UI across the migration and the new product experience. Later, I also took on art direction for a 3D artist and motion designer.
Two designers owned the product UX/UI. I led the work below, worked directly with engineering on the cross-chain build, designed and built the ecosystem’s public sites in Framer, and art-directed IX Meteora’s visual direction.
Designing the migration
The migration placed prompts inside the existing product, so people encountered them in context rather than having to hunt through a menu.
Users chose what to move in one place, then followed a guided flow for each asset type. Each flow included a plain-language explainer, a locked “don’t close this window” processing state, a clear success screen, and a real failure state.
I designed the moments people tend to skip first: the point when someone is mid-transfer and nervous, and the point when it breaks.
Migration outcome
Around 10,000 people moved their holdings across chains, representing roughly 117M tokens, with nothing lost.
Designing the migration first meant people already held their assets in the new product at launch. There was no cold start and no empty wallet on day one.
Building the new product
Once the community had moved, I led UX/UI across home, inventory, quests, daily rewards, and the full staking flow: overview, amount, confirmation, processing, success, management, claim, and empty states.
The goal was to make a complex financial action feel routine.
One month after launch, Planet IX became the #1 dApp on Base. It has sustained 3,000–4,000 weekly transacting users, and the staking pool held 5.4M+ AIX in May 2026.
Art direction for IX Meteora
IX Meteora is an in-app game where players pilot a drone, harvest fragments, and refine them into crystals they can stake. I art-directed the 3D artist and motion designer, and designed the game UI. The 3D artist built the experience in Godot.
The gameplay loop is the economy: every harvest and refine creates activity across the rest of the product.
Extending the system to the web
I also designed and built Planet IX’s public ecosystem sites in Framer: planetix.com, ix.foundation, and nibiru.se. The work carried the product’s brand system onto the pages people land on first.

Takeaway
This is the kind of product work I’m built for: experiences where a user moves money, commits to an irreversible action, or can lose something real. The interface needs to make that risk legible without making the person feel stranded.
