Here are the key steps I would take to design a logo for your project:

Develop digital concepts
Create 2-3 simple, clear, memorable logo concepts in Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator.
Refine shapes, colors, fonts until they feel right.
Get feedback and refine
Share initial concepts with client for feedback. Incorporate changes.
Refine final concept based on feedback until all parties are happy.
Create logo assets
Export final logo in different formats/sizes for various uses (web, print etc).
Create brand guidelines document outlining proper logo usage.
Present and deliver final logo
Present final concept and assets professionally to client.
Deliver digital logo files and brand guidelines.
Future brand support (optional)
Create business cards, letterhead, social media images etc. based on new logo.
Offer ongoing design support as brand evolves.
