The promo was created for Kuberan’s House, a reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to seasoned investors (similar to Shark Tank). The goal was to showcase the struggles of entrepreneurship and fundraising in a way that felt instantly relatable, entertaining, and easy to grasp for a wide audience. Instead of a dry, corporate narrative, the video needed to spark curiosity and emotional connection while introducing the show’s value.
Concept
Instead of a conventional business explainer, we reimagined the entrepreneurial journey as a Mario-inspired video game. The entrepreneur becomes the player, moving through levels where each obstacle represents a real-world funding challenge:
Spinning “interest traps” showing the constant financial risks.
Falling deadline blocks capturing the pressure of time.
Skeptical investors acting like gatekeepers or bosses, blocking the path forward.
Each jump, dodge, and climb reflects the hustle and determination required to keep a startup alive. The journey ends with the player reaching the Kuberan’s House castle — a symbol of opportunity, where unlike earlier levels, the gates finally open to investors who not only believe in the entrepreneur but are ready to mentor him/her. These mentors were founders of top companies of India.
The video uses a retro, Mario-inspired style, blending nostalgia with modern animation. Bright colors, dynamic motion, and pixel-like game mechanics make the struggles of entrepreneurship feel instantly understandable and entertaining. The playful style ensures that even complex challenges like funding and scaling are simplified into a story anyone can connect with.
