Implementing Structured Query Language (SQL) using mySQL command line, my 3 team members and I produced a 400 tuple database based on movie and telvision data from the IMDB website. Obeying Agile SDLC methodologies we produced the database executing the following steps:
1.) Created an Enhanced Entity-Relationship (EER) Diagram to graphically represent important subjects related to the film or tv show, their associate attributes, and the relationship between various Entities
2.) We then transformed the EER diagram into a Relational Schema that better correlates to a table that SQL or Oracle would produce.
3.) Used SQL to produce the database.
4.) Tested the database By designing 10 meaningful queries: Query 1 - used one table, Query 2 and 3 - joined two tables, Query 4 and 5 joined 3 tables, Query 6 - Joined 4 tables, Query 7 and 8 utilized set theory (union, intersection, or minus operations) to pull data, and Query 9 and 10 used grouping operations to pull data.
5.) Designed a 42 page report documenting our process
*Bi-weekly, we conferred with our professor regarding the effectiveness of our planning and programming. He commended our work and explained areas that needed improvement similar to the way a client would with an employee
*Attached is the report which contains our ER Diagram, Schema, ORACLE DDL CODE, ORACLE DML CODE and screenshots of our functioning queries respectively.
