Hiking through craters and lava tubes isn’t just an adventure, it’s a connection to the island’s history and its creation. It’s a chance to walk on ground that was once liquid fire, a reminder of the island’s resilience and transformation…much like our own journeys in life.

 

Have you ever seen the Milky Way stretch across the sky in perfect clarity? The Big Island’s Mauna Kea Observatory is one of the best places in the world for stargazing. At nearly 14,000 feet above sea level, the stars feel close enough to touch.

Standing there, surrounded by the vastness of the Universe, I felt a deep sense of awe and perspective… It’s one of those rare moments where you’re reminded of how connected we all are - to the stars, to the Earth, and to each other.

 

The Big Island isn’t just home to your standard white-sand beaches. Here, you’ll find beaches that feel like they belong to a different planet - black sand, green sand, even beaches made entirely of coral.

Each beach tells its own story, from the dramatic waves of Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles bask in the sun, to Papakōlea, a green-sand beach formed from volcanic olivine crystals.
