Wizzard Dice is a mobile app that reimagines the traditional 20-sided die by adding a touch of personalization through interactive lighting technology. The project's goal was to create a functional and engaging user experience as the foundation for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), with a focus on simplicity and innovation.
The Challenge
The team needed a design that could transform a complex concept into an intuitive interface for players of all levels, ensuring the MVP demonstrated the product's potential in a competitive market.
Our Solution
Working entirely remotely through tools like Discord and video calls, I led the user experience design from initial analysis to final delivery. The result was an effective solution that integrated lighting customization and essential functionalities.
Die color configuration screen
Key aspects of the design:
Modular design: We created an adaptable interface that allows for future iterations without requiring complete redesigns.
Optimized user flow: We designed clear, straightforward steps to configure personalized lighting modes, ensuring ease of use for the MVP.
Effective remote collaboration: Delivered detailed documentation to ensure accurate implementation by the development team.
Results
Although the project did not include user testing in this initial phase, the delivered design enabled:
A functional MVP: The app successfully demonstrated its core features in a clear and engaging way.
A strong foundation for future iterations: The design was structured with scalability in mind, allowing for new features to be added without compromising usability.
Efficient delivery: Despite logistical limitations, all materials were provided in detail, facilitating seamless implementation by the development team.
Tools and Processes
Design : Figma for wireframes, prototypes, and documentation
Collaboration: Discord and structured documentation for ongoing communication with the development team
Documentation: Comprehensive user flows and implementation guides delivered to developers.
