Goal Marvelous Designer set out to captivate attendees at the Game Developers Conference by offering an immersive, hands-on demo. The mission was clear: highlight the software’s unique ability to create realistic 3D garments, while positioning it as an essential tool for game developers and digital artists.
Audience The booth was tailored to game developers, 3D artists, and design students eager to integrate advanced cloth simulation into their creative pipelines. These audiences were looking for innovation they could immediately apply to their work, and the space was designed to spark that curiosity.
Contribution As Communications Manager, I led the visual identity and experience design for the booth. I created branded event graphics, booth layouts, and demo presentation assets that made the technology approachable and visually compelling. Every design choice — from signage to presentation slides — guided attendees through the garment creation process, ensuring they left with both inspiration and practical understanding.

At its core, the booth was about curiosity. Game developers and 3D artists didn’t just watch a demo — they stepped into a space designed to guide them, excite them, and show them what’s possible. Every banner, slide, and touchpoint was crafted to make a complex tool feel simple, inspiring, and unforgettable.

Story Behind the Booth

The GDC booth wasn’t just about showing software — it was about building a story. Marvelous Designer wanted attendees to feel the magic of digital fashion in real time. By letting people see garments transform on-screen with every click, the booth turned a technical demo into a creative performance. My role was to weave that story into every visual, every asset, and every interaction.

Process

Research & Inspiration Looked at past GDC activations and asked how Marvelous Designer could stand out by turning the booth into both a demo space and a gallery.
Booth Experience Design Planned an open, activity-driven layout with three slideshow walls looping user-created garments, surrounding a central demo area.
Community Showcase Curated and printed poster-size canvases of selected community artists’ work to celebrate and elevate their creations.
Refinement & Delivery Designed signage, presentation decks, and branded assets to tie the booth together and ensure a cohesive, welcoming experience.

Impact

The booth became a popular stop at GDC, drawing steady crowds and generating buzz across both the indie and AAA gaming communities. The branded materials not only supported live demos but also reinforced Marvelous Designer’s identity as a forward-thinking, artist-first tool in the gaming pipeline.
