Overview

Amizhthu was created to enable home-based food providers to sell and deliver meals at a time when there were no simple digital solutions available for them.
The goal was to design and build a platform that makes it easy for users to discover home-made food, place orders, and receive deliveries without friction. The focus was on creating a clear ordering experience, reliable delivery coordination, and a trustworthy visual identity from the ground up.

Challenges

At the time, there was no simple way for small home-based food providers to take orders online and manage deliveries. Users relied on manual communication, which made the process slow, inconsistent, and hard to scale.
No Digital Ordering System: Orders were handled manually, making it difficult to manage and track deliveries
Lack of Structured Experience: Users had no clear way to browse menus, place orders, or trust the service

Approach

I started by understanding user behavior around food ordering and local delivery patterns. The focus was to keep the experience simple, fast, and easy to use—especially for users unfamiliar with digital ordering.
The platform was designed and built end-to-end, ensuring consistency across UX, UI, and front-end implementation.
Ordering Flow: Designed clear, step-by-step interactions for browsing and placing orders
Delivery Integration: Structured the system to support smooth coordination with local delivery
Execution: Built a responsive interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a consistent visual system

Key Decisions

Simplicity First: Prioritized a clean and minimal interface to reduce friction for first-time users
Trust-Centered Design: Used clear visuals and structured content to build confidence in food quality and delivery
Guided Interactions: Designed step-by-step flows to make ordering predictable and easy
