COMPANY OVERVIEW

J. Balough Photography

is owned by our brilliant and talented friend Jessa (who also happened to take all of Sara’s professional photos).

Launched in 2013 and based in St. Louis, Jessa specializes in capturing unedited, human moments.

TOOLS USED

Zapier | Kitchen.co | Quickbooks | Cal.com

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Problem: All of her processes were manual work & built based on Honeybook’s clunky model & do not benefit her workload in any way.

In our workflow mapping sessions, we break down everything including; current processes & time commitments; tech use and costs; and income & workload goals. Then we go by line item to improve it all. In Jessa’s case, we found that she spends approx. 23 hours on every client project from start to finish. There are currently 36 steps in her process, but only 10 hrs are spent on the creative deliverables.

Everything else is admin - emails, scheduling, etc. It’s so backward.

So here’s what we’re doing for Jessa’s biz:

Removing Honeybook

Adding Cal.com & Kitchen to the tech stack

Creating a single offer deck as a service overview for potential clients.

Cal.com

| Every offer will have its own calendar of availability to book a photoshoot + pay a deposit. We’ll also set up multiple email templates & triggers to auto-send reminders and other info. (This alone saves her 5-7 hrs per client)

Kitchen

| One streamlined tool for communication that doesn’t make the client have to log in or take extra steps outside their inbox. This also reduces Jessa’s overhead by $600/yr.

Other changes we accomplished:

Increased all of her pricing by 20% (ABOUT TIME)

Reduced her work shooting schedule to 5 days/mo

Reduced tech stack spend by $302/mo.

Created a client referral process to increase leads

Created a surprise client gift experience using Canva’s magic tools.
