During my tenure at Reflect, a health and wellness company committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle through high-quality products, I spearheaded a comprehensive content writing strategy to address various aspects of health and wellness, including the crucial need for clean running water. Reflect's mission was not only to offer quality products but also to contribute to water security in America, especially in light of the water insecurity issues prevalent in the company's native city of Jackson, MS, and across the United States.

Company Background

Reflect, being native to Jackson, MS has firsthand experience with the challenges of water insecurity. A significant portion of the American population faces issues such as inconsistent or lack of running water, contaminated water, and supply regulation due to drought. Anticipated to worsen, these issues prompted Reflect to donate a portion of its profits to address water security in America.

Content Writing Objectives

coveringcoveringThe primary goal of the content writing strategy was to enhance Reflect's online presence by improving search engine optimization (SEO) and increasing website traffic. This involved creating diverse blogs covering physical and mental health, sleep hygiene, whole foods, and comparing plant-based and animal-based proteins.

Performance Metrics

From August 1 to December 1, 2023, the content strategy yielded significant results, with Reflect gaining 16,000 impressions, an average click-through rate (CTR) of 0.9%, and an average position of 46 in search results, improving from 67 in SERPs. These metrics demonstrated a notable improvement in Reflect's online visibility and engagement.

Business Owner Feedback

Reflect's owner, Kevin, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes achieved through the content strategy. The enhanced impressions, CTR, and search result position validated the approach's effectiveness in meeting the company's objectives.

Conclusion

Despite the positive impact of the content strategy, Reflect decided to transition away from our collaboration. Nonetheless, the experience provided valuable insights into leveraging content to bolster a health and wellness brand's online presence and engage with pertinent societal issues such as water security.
